Colombia Decaf
We care deeply about decaf coffee. We seek out natural processes to achieve decaffeination, not only for the benefits in health but in flavor retention. A mild but creamy cup is offered with every sip of this Colombian decaf. It reminds us of sneaking graham crackers from the cabinet when mom wasn’t looking. This decaf uses a custom decaffeination process that utilizes a solvent of ethyl acetate, which can be derived from fermented sugar. The green coffee soaks in the solution of E.A., which bonds to the salts of chlorogenic acid in the coffee and allows for the removal of caffeine. After the coffee is removed, it is steamed at low pressure to remove the E.A. compounds. This results in a fresh cup that retains flavor integrity and little to none caffeine.
