Lake Tahoe Altitude Specialty Course 2023

Price includes $250 boat fee. This is our shops cost. We make no money on the boat charter in order to make it as affordable for our students as possible.  After a detailed Altitude diving briefing, divers will complete two dives under the  supervision of a PADI Altitude Diving instructor. Divers must complete the altitude diving section of the advanced open water manual or eLearning.  Lake Tahoe is cold water diving. It can be completed in the same wetsuit as one would dive in Monterey. Drysuits are also popular.  Surface temps can be up to 70° in the summer, but don't let that fool you. Lake Tahoe has incredible thermoclines. At depth the water will be easily as cold as Monterey, or colder. Divers must arrive at altitude no later than Saturday morning for Saturday afternoon diving in order to acclimate to altitude. Since there is no way out of Lake Tahoe without crossing a pass, divers must wait a minimum of 6 hours after diving and be DCS symptom free before leaving the Tahoe basin,
