Our lady of Lourdes Since appearing to St. Bernadette in Lourdes, France, Our Lady of Lourdes has become one of the most widely venerated Marian apparitions in the world. Our Lady first appeared to St. Bernadette on February 11th, 1858, which has now become her feast day. When St. Bernadette asked the apparitions who she was, Our Lady replied, “I am the Immaculate Conception.”  Each time that Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette, they prayed the rosary together. Her most famous miracle is without doubt the spring of healing water that St. Bernadette dug up under her instruction. Our Lady of Lourdes is painted here with her rosary and surrounded by golden roses. She is shown in front of the grotto in which the apparitions took place.
