Philodendron Florida Ghost
The Philodendron Florida Ghost sports a very unique sort of variegation. Unlike most plants, the Ghost's Variegation is transitional. Leaves will emerge almost completely white and slowly harden to a lime yellow and eventually green. This is due to a novel trait where the plant does not produce chlorophyll until its leaves have fully emerged. Once the leaves have been produced the plant begins slowly populating them with the pigment responsible for it's green coloring. The variegation on these plants is very dependent on the conditions they are grown in. Brighter light results in leaves that are brighter white and maintain their coloring for longer.
