This dinosaur bone was collected from the Hell Creek Formation in the United States. The Hell Creek Formation, dating back to the end of the Cretaceous period about 65.5 million years ago, is named for the exposures studied along Hell Creek near Jordan, Montana. The formation spans parts of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
