Blue Mountain Swallowtail Post Earrings -- Papilio ulyssesNative to Indonesia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands, this wonderful butterfly uses structural color within its wing scales to create a brilliant blue coloration. The wing scales reflect back the blue wavelengths of light, but do not contain their own pigment. Item Details: Two gorgeous real Blue Mountain Swallowtail wing sections, from one specimen for symmetry. We use a small area on the forewings where wing veins meet. Surgical steel posts and bullet-style backs. 14 mm domed glass for magnifying effect.
