St. Gregory of Nyssa Like any selection from the prolific writings of a saint, this delightful and readily comprehensible compendium must be approached with a measure of caution. Inevitably, it reflects as much the interests and predilections of the compiler, as it does the thought of the author. In this case, a double measure of caution is called for: the selections were made by one Jesuit, and the translation and editing by another.
