The wonderful woodblock print "Ame no Omiya" (Night Rain at Omiya) is by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957).  First printed in 1930 originally by Kawaguchi & Sakai; this is a later print by Shobisha from original blocks.  Shobisha obtained the original blocks in about 1950. Signed Hasui with red artist seal "sui". The bottom margin contains the title "Ame no Omiya" and "Showa 5 nen saku"(printed in 1930) in Japanese. Very wonderful "bokashi" shading through print with finely carved details. A true classic Hasui print of the highest order. Peaceful rainy night image of a rural village.
