- Baika ni Uso (Bullfinch in the Plum Blossoms)

The beautiful woodblock print "Baika ni Uso" (Bullfinch in the Plum Blossoms) is by Shoson Ohara (1877 - 1945) This is a later print from the original blocks. Published by Watanabe publisher. Artist's signature "Shoson" with the artist's red seal, and two Watanabe Seals in the lower right corner. Very soft romantic colors and amazing contrast. The theme of "Small birds in the plum blossoms" is found extensively in Japanese artistic tradition.
