The serene woodblock print "Fuji Jū-Nikei no uchi, Shinano Suwa-ko" (Lake Suwa in Shinano Province, from Twelve Views of Mt. Fuji) is by Hiroshige Ando (1797–1858). This beautiful print depicts a contrasting view of frozen Lake Suwa and snow-capped Mount Fuji. Lake Suwa is frozen, and travelers are seen walking on it, as well as people carrying loads on horseback. The trees and castle are lightly covered in snow. The details are so delicate. The title "Shinano Suwa-ko", Hiroshige's red seal, and embossed seal are in the lower right of the image. When Hiroshige was in his late 50s, he drew this series (Twelve Views of Mt. Fuji). They were originally sketchbooks/picture albums of hand-painted images. They are very delicate, and the subtle colors are beautiful. This woodblock print is a high-quality Fukkoku Mokuhan (reproduction woodblock print) by Yoshio Kawazura (1880–1963), printed in Taisho 14 (1925). This is rarely on the market. It is still tipped on the original folder. Technique:
