The wonderful woodblock print "Yuki no Miyajima" (Snow at Miyajima) is by Kawase Hasui (1883–1957). First printed in 1929 by Kawaguchi & Sakai, this is a later printing by Shobisha from the original blocks, which Shobisha acquired around 1950. It is signed "Hasui" with the red artist seal "sui." The bottom margin contains the title "Yuki no Miyajima" and the date "Showa 4 nen 7 gatsu saku" (Printed in July 1929) in Japanese. The print features wonderful shading and a lifelike reflection on the water. It is beautifully embossed and highly detailed, with skillful shading. The red torii gate looks striking on a snowy day. This is the last copy we have available.
