1970 French Jumping Medal on Pearl Necklace

This lovely and rare 2" solid bronze medal is gorgeous! One of the challenges in finding vintage medals such as this is the confirmation of the horse and position of the rider, both of which are typically depicted in the style that was prevalent when the sculptor first created the medal. This example features a horse jumping in excellent form!  Bronze medals such as this  were given as awards at equestrian competitions in Europe. This example has been bezel wrapped in sterling silver and suspended from a 20" adjustable necklace made from hand-knotted freshwater pearls. One-of-a-kind.
