Bougainvillea | West LA

One of the things I remember most about the house I grew up in is the colorful canopy of bougainvillea in the backyard. Whenever I see it (which in LA, is often) it takes me right back to my childhood in the house on Darnell Street (which I wrote about in In the Fullness of Time). This magenta beauty is one I would pass every morning on my neighborhood walks in West LA, and now that I live in an expanse of green, I miss these gorgeous pops of color.
