Tranquil Summer

The ocean is in a peaceful mood.  The ebbing tide laps lazily at the sandy shore.  A delicate cloud touched with the warm light of late afternoon drifts over the quiet sea. It was important to me to capture the sense of air in this painting.  I felt it could best be done by including the open sky.  Just as every moment doesn't need to be filled with action or noise, ever inch of a painting does not need objects.  It needs light and air. 12 x 9 oil on panel $1400.
