Lamata Cenizo Durango 750ml - Lamata Cenizo is an agave spirit produced by Federico Cruz and his family in El Mezquital, Durango, using Maguey Cenizo (Agave Durangensis).  It is produced using Cenizo agave that grows among pine trees at high elevations with a colder climate than typical Maguey Cenizo. This gives the spirit a green character with notes of green pepper and chili, characteristic of Salmianas. Tasting Notes On the nose, Lamata Cenizo has a jolly watermelon rancher aroma with a hint of balsamic vinegar and tart strawberries. On the palate is a strong helping of watermelon, candy, and balsamic. It feels less candied than the nose suggests, with nice acidity and a thick mouthfeel. With water added, some bubblegum joins in to mellow out some of the acidic watermelon notes. The finish is a bit hot due to its 52.5% ABV and a slight acrid plastic note.
