A Roman Glass and Quartz Bead Necklace<br><em>Late Roman Imperial Period, ca. 3rd - 4th century CE</em>

Comprising six large flat disc beads of dark green glass, alternating with seven rhomboid quartz crystal beads and later gold spacer beads. A true statement piece! Condition: The necklace has been restrung with a modern hook clasp, all beads are intact and in excellent condition overall, with good iridescence to the large glass beads.Dimensions: Necklace length: 17 1/4 inches (43.8 cm)Provenance: The Hauge Collection of Ancient Art, assembled between 1962 and 1966.
