A Roman Carnelian and Garnet Necklace with Amphora Shaped Pendants, ca. 2nd - 3rd century CE

This lovely necklace is composed of three amphora-shaped gold pendants, surrounded by bright carnelian barrel-shaped beads, six carnelian teardrop beads, interspersed with small garnet spacer beads. Strung on an 18K yellow gold link chain of ancient style. Dimensions:  Length: 18 inches (45.7 cm) Condition:  Restrung and in excellent condition overall, with some denting to the gold amphora pendants that does not detract. Provenance:  From the property of an East Coast Collector acquired prior to 1979.
