A Roman Marble fragment of a Left Foot, Roman Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE

This marble fragment from a statue is a sensitively carved lifesize left foot of fine marble. a foot emerges from a large, rectangular plinth. The foot is beautifully carved, showing veins and bones, curled articulated toes with toenails and a slightly curved arch. Professionally mounted on a bronze base. Medium: Marble Dimensions: Height: 6 inches (15.1 cm), Length: 8 1/4 inches (20.9 cm) Condition: Overall tan-brown surface patina in very good condition overall.
