This porcelain egg cup features a form reminiscent of a twisted ribbon. It was created by gently twisting a sheet of clay prepared in a fabric-like state. Using the nerikomi technique, blue-gray and blue lines are layered to form a ribbon-like pattern that runs through the piece. The egg shown in the photographs is a medium-size egg, which fits neatly inside the cup. While visually striking as tableware, the piece is also fully functional.
