The whole purpose of day really is just to get to the nighttime, right? I caught this moment in my hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee late last winter. Early evening twilight during winter is pure magic because of the clear, crisp light and the bold colors that emerge just as the sun sets and the city lights shimmer to life. This was near Kingston Pike and Papermill Drive. This is the debut piece in this year's 25 Days of Minis series of small original paintings for the holiday season.
