The Eagle and the Rose, Original Painting

The mottled yellowy-green colors make me thing the eagle is swooping into the heart of the world. I photographed the eagle in Kenya. It's an African fish eagle. Their wingspan averages about 6.6 feet (2 meters) in males and about 7.9 feet (2.6 meters) in females. These are grand, enormous birds in real life! I photographed the rose on a walk and have no idea the species. It was already leaning toward green, and I enhanced that in the painting.  Surrealism in changing the scale of flower to bird is very obvious here. I like to think of the birds in my Tiny Birds series as being pixie-sized, but you are welcome to see the flowers as gargantuan instead.
