Ifugao Heirloom Sticky Rice

This rare, medium grain sticky rice is hand-cultivated in the mountain terraces of northern Luzon, Philippines. Minimal milling leaves flecks of dark bran intact on the milky white grain.  The cooked rice is a light purple color.  Traditionally served in festive desserts, the nutty whole grains can add color and texture to almost any dish.
