Sorrel is a leafy green plant, use alternately as an herb and a vegetable, with a distinctive sour, lemony flavor. It is a slender herbaceous perennial plant about 24 inches high, with roots that run deep into the ground, as well as juicy stems and arrow-shaped leaves.
