Côte des Bars – the southernmost sub-region of Champagne planted to a good portion of Pinot Noir. Soils here are mostly Kimmeridgian calcareous marls, same as in Chablis and Sancerre. This area is an important source for riper, full-flavored Pinot Noir for non-vintage Champagne blends. Varieties 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Blanc, 5% Arbanne. Farming Certified Organic (Ecocert EU) & Biodynamic (Demeter EU). Hand-harvested. Vineyards & Site Single parcel, massale-selected, 40-45 year old vines on clay-limestone soils with strips of Kimmeridgian limestone. East and south-east exposure. Vinification & Aging Fermented with native yeasts and aged for 11 mo in amphora. 36 mo sur lattes. Unfined, unfiltered. 0 Dosage
