Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is a red wine that originates on the shores of Lake Garda , in that area of Veneto, Valpolicella, dedicated to the best Italian winemaking tradition. It is a wine with great personality whose history is linked to the expert expertise of the Masi winery in the field of Appassimento , a technique that has given us a fine but absolutely modern product. Born from a barrel of Recioto forgotten in the cellar, it is called Costasera by virtue of a little curiosity: the vineyards are cultivated on the shores of the lake facing the sunset. The play of soft lights and temperate climate allow the grapes to ripen perfectly. The climate of the area is perfect for enhancing the native varieties of Valpolicella. Mild, not excessively rainy, it benefits from the fresh winds of Lessinia that provide a perfect microclimate for viticulture. The soil, of Alpine origin, is calcareous with clayey tendencies. Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is born from a blend of dark grapes: Corvina , Molinara and Rondella . Cultivated using the pergola and guyot systems , they are harvested at the end of September. After careful manual selection, the bunches are laid out on special bamboo racks that guarantee perfect protection from humidity. Left to remain in the drying rooms throughout the winter, the grapes dry, losing about 40% of their weight and acquiring great aromatic complexity. After gentle pressing, the fermentation process begins in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels for about two years. The refinement in the bottle lasts from four to six months. Aromas of cooked fruit, plum and cherry.  Flavors of fruity scents, with notes of coffee and cocoa.
