Artisan Cave-Aged MOUNTAIN HOME WOOD SMOKED CHEDDAR CHEESE An immensely popular flavored cheese in the central Pennsylvania area is Mountain Home Woodsmoked Cheddar. This hand-made, raw cow milk cheese is produced from an original German-Swiss traditional recipe taken directly from our Amish heritage. This cheese is a completely hand-made white cheddar with a well-rounded sharpness and a deep cheddar flavor coupled with a hickory smoked flavor. Mountain Home Woodsmoked Cheddar is produced in 5 lb loaves for consistent smoking and aged about 6 months. The wood smoke taste is enhanced by a dry, semi-hard texture which imparts a sharp bite and lingering finish. Our locally produced Mountain Home Woodsmoked Cheddar is great in carbonara sauces, soups, and mixed into cheese logs. This cheese enhances the flavor of grilled red meats and various stone fruits.
