If you don’t know this already, I am sentimental and often design clothing with secret messages for my children. I designed the Larsdatter sweater for my daughter Anna on her 25th birthday and made her and my daughter-in law Paula these slippers from the same motif for Christmas that year. This motif is full of symbols for hope, love, kindness, charity, growth, happiness, courage, understanding and goodwill—all represented by the tulips and hearts on the top of the slipper (John 13:34). The heel has a crown, to represent blessings and happiness. (Isaiah 35:10). The sole of slipper is a sea of stars (Matthew 2:10) that represent the stars in the heavens that bring us light in darkness. I often think that no matter where we live, we all live under this same beautiful canopy, we all are guided by this lovely light and we are all one.
