Grows 8 inches to 1 ½ foot tall and spreads over time to form a dense mat up to 6 - 10 foot wide. Prized for its foliage that features spiny-pointed bright green new growth that turns blue-green when mature and slightly purplish in winter. Makes an easy to care choice for Bonsai or a container. Great choice for a mass planting on a rocky slope, or a specimen planting. Is deer resistant, tolerates hot, dry areas and grows in variety of soils in full or part sun.
