'Kay Parris' Evergreen Southern Magnolia. 20-28 inch tall One of a select group the evergreen magnolias, 'Kay Parris' is a cross between , 'Little Gem' and 'Bracken's Brown Beauty' This small tree or multi-stemmed large shrub has, creamy-white very fragrant flowers that bloom continuously from May to September. Bees and hummingbirds love the pollen rich flowers. Showy red pods add color in the fall. Evergreen leaves are glossy, emerald green and have a deep orange-brown, velvet like underside. Leaves are smaller than larger size Southern Magnolias. Limb structure is better than Little Gem. Low maintenance and deer resistant. Use Kay Parris magnolia as a specimen or as a sheared tall privacy hedge. Grows up to 25 foot tall and 15 foot wide in USDA zones 6-10. Grow in full sunlight to 1/2 day shade. Likes a rich organic, slightly acidic soil that has great drainage. Does well in USDA zones 6-10. Needs regular water, but is more drought tolerant than some evergreen magnolias
