Vigreux Distillation Columns

The indentations in the Vigreux column provide a larger surface area for vapor to condense on and increase the path length that vapor must traverse as it ascends the column. Both these features contribute to a higher efficiency of separation. The effective height is measured from the highest to lowest indent in the column. The distillation column features two standard taper joints of the same size: a top outer (female) joint and a lower inner (male) joint. Made of borosilicate glass for its excellent chemical durability and mechanical strength.
