Hans Christian Andersen's Balloons Mobile
In 1853 Hans Christian Andersen made a little story about hot air balloons, inspired by the Frenchman Henri Giffard who flew 25 km from the hippodrome in Paris to Trappes. Less-known for his paper-cutting than his story-telling, Andersen left over a thousand silhouette cuttings, including the balloon that inspired this mobile.
