Sometimes, NYC sidewalk trees are trimmed due to maintenance, or branches are fallen due to storms. When it happens, the branches are usually left right next to the tree. I love picking up those branches and carve spoons. This spoon is carved from a cherry tree at 31st Avenue and Newtown Rd. Queens, New York. Cherry tree is particularly great for utensils. It is very hard, and non-toxic. You can use it for a long period of time. This spoon is soaked in cutting board oil for a week to soak up the oil, and not treated with any varnish. Many items are unique, due to the availability of source material. Length: 5"Width: 1"Depth: 1"
