Hickory is the hardest available North American wood and has a great sturdy feel. The hickory prevents this jo from having any wobble upon performing techniques. *For Discounted Staffs: these staffs have sections where the grain is not ideally straight or some other cosmetic imperfection, making these staffs not recommended for contact.
