ENGLISH STYLE LEADED GLASS SHIELD TRANSOM Inspired by windows seen in my trips to England, this panel has been constructed to resemble panels build by British glassiers of the late 19th and early 20th century. The panel features a prominent shield with a design that cleverly hides a cross behind, a common Scottish way of getting around reformation guidelines. A pattern of greens make up the support for the shield in the center of the design drawing your eyes to the focal point. Sweeping blue ribbons resembling cloth extent to the edges, breaking up the structured design. The background uses glass that mimics early European factory glass with its heavy striations that breaks up the view beyond into ever changing geometric patters. This panel is constructed using traditional lead came and mortar, creating a long lasting window pane, like those used to adorn so many homes throughout the United Kingdom.
