Salazar is a Texas-born artist of Mexican heritage who has been passionate about art his whole life. After graduating from Colorado College in 1995 with a BA in Sociology and Arts, Salazar continued to pursue his studies in art, with a particular focus on art in society and religion. He has since obtained master's degrees from both Boston College and Harvard University. Salazar's artistic journey has taken him across a range of mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, theatre, and dance. It was while living in Florence, Italy, that he felt his calling to painting.
