Woodstock Zodiac Wind Chime

In astronomy, the zodiac is the ring of constellations that lines the path the sun takes across the sky in a year. As is the case with the windcatcher on this wind chime, the zodiac is often depicted as a circle that's been divided into 12 equal zones, one for each constellation. Today the 12 zones, or signs; are most often associated with the horoscope. The notes in this "planetary" tuning represent Uranus (D), Pluto (A), the Sun (A#), Earth (C#), and Venus (D) as determined by Pythagoras, who believed the universe was organized on a system of musical harmony. His theory is that everything in the universe is vibrating in tune and we are literally living inside a giant musical instrument, which is playing notes, chords and scales.
