Standing Room Only

Believe it or not, this photo was taken with my Contax T3 point-and-shoot camera. Whenever I shoot from the shoreline I always have this camera laying out along side of me, just in case moments like this occur. On big days at Pipeline, surfers line up along the shore waiting for the right moment to jump in and make the paddle to the outside. What happens next is that the surfers (and water photographers) wait for the last wave of a set to come in, and when the ocean goes somewhat flat, it's at that exact moment they jump in and paddle as hard as they can, fighting the current the entire way.
