6" Air Plant - Tillandsia juncea (small)

Air Plants get their moisture from the air.  Do not plant in soil.  When you receive your air plant, it may appear stressed from being inside a dark box without water or sunlight.  Place it in room temperature, chlorine-free water for 20-60 minutes.  Pond or stream water is best as most tap water will have trace amounts of chlorine.  You can use bottled water or regular tap water if necessary, but do not use distilled water.  Allow air plants to dry for 1-2 hours until completely dry.  Place them in indirect, bright sunlight.  Be sure that they are completely dry if you will display them in a terrarium, wall hanger, or other enclosed container to help avoid mold or fungus.  White fuzziness on their leaves after watering is normal.  These Trichomes, or outgrowths on the leaves, allow it to absorb moisture and nutrients from the air.  Continue to water by soaking for 30 minutes once per week.  For warmer climates, spritz with water between waterings.
