Each plant is removed from the soil, sun dried, and carefully packed for shipping. All plants are shipped bare root. (Cuttings are not rooted). When you receive the plant, it may appear pale, dry, and stressed. This is normal after spending a few days in a dark, dry box during shipping. There is no need to worry as succulents and cacti are very hearty plants. You may choose to hydrate the plant by placing it in a container of water for 24 hours before planting, however many succulents and cacti are ready for planting right away. Plant in a pot with a coarse, succulent & cacti potting soil and place it in a bright location with indirect sunlight for 48-72 hours. Water at this time until the soil is moist or saturated. Allow the soil to completely dry before next watering. Times will vary depending on the environment you live in and the time of year, but a good rule of thumb is not to over water.
