Twenty assorted note cards (5 each of 4 designs) featuring the artwork of Georgia O’Keeffe, Andrew Dasburg, Marsden Hartley and Oscar Bluemner Printed on recycled paper, assorted images on 5 x 7 inch cards, blank inside with envelopes.  Comes in a decorative box featuring Lake George – Autumn by O’Keeffe on the cover. Landscape painting underwent a profound transformation during the 1920s, shifting away from the aesthetic idealism and storytelling of classical or historical landscapes.  Perhaps as an influence of the Industrial Revolution, many artists chose to paint outdoors, or to show the juxtaposition of nature and industry in a style that was less representational and more emotional.  This set shows a highlight of modern landscapes of the 20s from the Vilcek Collection, featuring O’Keeffe, Dasburg, Hartley and Bluemner.
