Created in 2003 by Seattle artist Steve Gardner, the "Ocean Waves" design is featured on nearly every Metro bus shelter. Showcasing the waves, mountains and clouds that are so emblematic of our region, the design is silk screened onto shelter glass using ceramic paint, and then baked into the glass with a kiln. We've often stared at this outdoorsy scene while waiting for a late bus, and figured it paired well with another tool for sitting around outside: a scarf. On the scarf's reverse we've added a slogan used by Metro long ago: "I'm No Dummy, I Take the Bus." We like to think of it as a way to declare your love for public transit, even while waiting in the freezing cold for the 8—which is inevitably 15 minutes late. 100% heavyweight acrylic, made in Poland.
