Blue Sceptre

This sculpture was created by Karen Ehart. She will then craft the design elements she will use. She cuts, fires, torches andsmashes pieces of glass, using a variety of techniques to create the parts thatwill make up the composition.Karen experiments with the glass pieces in various configurations until she findsthe right look for her design. She prepares the final arrangement for the first ofseveral firings by stacking and inlaying the glass elements together flat on a kilnshelf. Temperatures of up to 1500 degrees melt the layers of glass together intoa single flat piece.   It measures approximately 5'8" tall, 1'10" wide and 2'8" long.
