BENRUS Watch Model BA 2 Square Case 17 Jewels Swiss Made Wristwatch

BENRUS Watch Co. INC.  In the early 1920's worldwide pocket watch manufacture and sales were on the decline, it was then that three young brothers saw an opportunity to begin a wristwatch company, to produce moderately priced watches for the common-man, BENRUS. Benrus Watch Company, an American company, founded in New York City in 1921 by three brothers: Oscar, Benjamin and Ralph; Romanian immigrants. The name "BENRUS" was a combination of Benjamin Lazrus first and last names. Hence "BEN"jamin laz"RUS".   BENRUS 17 Jewels Model BA 2 Swiss Made  From the 1950's, still preserve in time, this is a very nice timepiece, a Benrus wristwatch. It is a manual wind watch with an original Benrus Watch Co. movement model BA2, 17 jewels, sub second hand, Swiss made.  Cased in 25.6mm square case and fancy lugs desing. 10K Rolled gold plated bezel and stainless steel back.  It still has the original champagne dial with gold Arabic Numerals, gold hour markers and gold matching hands.
