Voulkos-ism; vase

I'm a big fan of Peter Voulkos ceramics. He made rough-edged raw work that was sometimes closer to abstract art than "just" functional, though it was often both. Their energy is everything I'm aiming for when I make certain clothing pieces. His work sparks mine. So this, in turn, is my painted semi-abstracted version of his vase. This is one of three Voulkos works I've painted.9 by 12 inches, acrylic on canvas board. Varnished and waxed. Ready to hang as is, or frame.
