This picturesque book contains 12 stunning projects. Jo Butcher shares her work that spans from a wild daisy field to manicured topiaries. She incorporates ribbons into some of her pieces, which adds a gorgeous textured element to the work. The book has detailed instructions (including painting on fabric), a stitch dictionary, pattern pieces, and wonderfully detailed photography throughout. This book would be a fantastic addition to the library of a more advanced stitcher but could also serve as a guide for the enthusiastic beginner. These projects are not intimidating, especially for one with the patience to learn on their own. Most of the required materials are easily-obtained cotton threads. She uses DMC but provides a color palette so a stitcher could easily substitute with any thread they prefer. Additional materials include ribbons and a few watercolor paints.
