Very cold-hardy dark green leaves with a heavily savoyed texture. Excellent for early spring and fall plantings. Offers strong cold-soil emergence but may bolt in hot weather. Performs exceptionally well in winter greenhouses or when overwintered outdoors under mulch. Developed by David Landreth in the 1800s, the original Bloomsdale spinach remains a reliable heirloom favorite.
