Raising and lowering it will cause it to tear. If you raise and lower it, unclip the retaining wires when doing so. If you are looking for a more durable cover, consider our Clear Poly.  Level 1 and Level 2 are thin fabrics. They are made to be lightweight and highly permeable to light. As a result, they are not strong. If you pull them too tightly, they will tear. Look at Levels 4 and 5 for more robust fabrics, but know the trade-off is decreased light permeability and more heat retention.
