Dust Mask - Voluntary Use Guidelines

Course Description  You are probably exposed to dust in your workplace, which may pose various health hazards. If those hazards are significant enough, your employer will require that you use respiratory protection. You can wear a dust mask if the hazards are minor, and protection is not mandated. This course will explain how to select, use, and care for dust masks. Ideal learners are employees in the heavy equipment, manufacturing (production and maintenance), construction, and mining industries and their supervisors. Course Objectives   Differentiate between types of respirators. Recognize situations in which it is a good idea to use a dust mask voluntarily. Recall how to use a dust mask properly. Determine if a dust mask is in good working order.  Course Duration 14 minutes Target Audience  Managers, supervisors, engineers, technicians, or any individual working directly with this equipment or product   Requisite Knowledge  None
