Laker

  The Laker ice rod is a 48" heavy weight fiberglass casting rod designed for big predatory fish. The inspiration for this rod came from the demand from anglers who have a passion for chasing world class lake trout on Flaming Gorge Reservoir where fish can be upwards of 50 pounds. We built the Laker casting rod with a spiral guide wrap because this method will significantly reduce torque-twist on the tip-top guide of the rod. During hook sets and battles with big fish, our design will relieve stress on the guides and minimize wear on the upper portion of the rod. This rod has a moderate action which provides enough strength for big baits - as big as 4 oz. - while still providing the sensitivity to detect soft bites, which big lakers are notorious for.  Anglers often lose fish because lakers will head shake and roll when they get close to the hole.
