The PLATFORM is a simple Subframe onto which you connect the Stands and Rails. The PLATFORM can be removed from your van fully attached to the stands and this will add extra stability to your stands when they are used outside of the van. The Platform Traps the Stands which are otherwise free to move along the rails. This feature allows you to adjust the spacing between bikes INSIDE and OUTSIDE the van.
